Today Rural Spark presented the ‘Local Light’ project at the townhall of ‘s-Hertogenbosch. The project will be the start for Rural Spark. In this project we aim to lift the initiative from ‘graduation projects’ into actual continuously running projects in India. The goal is to make the already established pilot village and a number of new villages self-sustaining. The light sharing concept proved to be a success in one village, however, issues are still there when it comes to maintenance and scaling. It’s time to enable the growth of a bottom-up network.
The funding we received from the city of ‘s-Hertogenbosch will enable us to start developing a small workshop where the solar light kits will be manufactured. Check in regularly for updates on this website!
